10 Worst Movies of 2022: According to Metacritic

Most movies merely aim to divert audiences for a few hours while taking their minds off of their routines. And while several films succeeded in doing so, the year also saw the release of several duds. What, however, were the worst movies of 2022? The worst movies we’ve seen include Morbius. 10. The Lost Girl

Metacritic Score: 29

The Lost Girls, a film based on the beloved Peter Pan story, follows four generations of Darling ladies as they try to move on from their Neverland experiences with Peter Pan (Louis Partridge). Wendy (Emily Carey and Livia De Paolis) must escape Pan’s hold on her and the vow he dearly wants her to keep, just like her grandmother Vanessa Redgrave and her mother Jane (Joely Richardson) did before her. Wendy must struggle to maintain her relationship with her daughter Berry (Ella-Rae Smith) while making peace with her legacy. One of the worst movies of 2022.

9. Mother Schmuckers

Metacritic Score: 28

It cannot be good with a name like Mother Schmuckers. It’s also not. The low-budget, revolting comedy from Harpo and Lenny Guit, who are new to directing, Issachar and Zabulon are two brothers in their twenties who live a life of lunacy and are hence immensely foolish and never bored. They have 24 hours to find their mother’s cherished pet dog or she will evict them if they don’t. One of the worst movies of 2022.

8. Blacklight

Metacritic Score: 27

Another one of those generic action-thrillers like the one we just discussed, but this time it stars Liam Neeson, a contemporary movie star rather than a former one (like Willis or Travolta). Even though film has a little higher budget, Blacklight nevertheless failed to recoup even half of its $43 million production cost, making it an even larger box office failure. 7. Shattered

Metacritic Score: 27

A rich divorcee Chris falls in love with a mysterious woman named Sky, and he, his ex-wife, and their child become trapped, leading to a desperate fight for survival. The worst film yet from director Luis Prieto

6. The Friendship Game

Metacritic Score: 26

There are no winners in Scooter Corkle’s sci-fi horror/thriller The Friendship Game, In The Friendship Game, a group of teenagers discover a weird device that tests their friendship and has increasingly harmful effects as they progress through the game. One of the worst movies of 2022.

5. Me Time

Metacritic Score: 25

A stay-at-home dad meets up with his old best friend for a crazy weekend that almost destroys his life when he finally has some “me time” after years while his wife and children are away.

4. Home Team

Metacritic Score: 23

Follows Payton, who returns to his hometown two years after winning the Super Bowl while on suspension and finds himself reuniting with his 12-year-old son by managing his Pop Warner football team. Payton received a suspension in 2012 for his involvement in the Bountygate controversy involving the squad, in which players were allegedly offered rewards for intentionally hurting opponents. One of the worst movies of 2022.

3. Asking for It

Metacritic Score: 20

In this gritty thriller, Vanessa Hudgens, Kiersey Clemons, and Alexandra Shipp command an all-female gang that shows no compassion. After being sexually abused on a date by a small-town waitress (Clemons), she meets Regina (Shipp) and Beatrice (Hudgens) and joins their vigilante squad of fierce women. Together, they work to overthrow a society dominated by dishonest men and seek the ultimate retribution while obtaining their own brand of justice. One of the worst movies of 2022.

2. Zero Contact

Metacritic Score: 18

Five people in Zero Contact are based all over the world but are only linked by their love for the late founder and tech tycoon Finley Hart (played by Anthony Hopkins). forced to cooperate in order to stop Hart’s most top-secret creation, a device that might either be the answer to humanity’s problems or spell the end of life on Earth. One of the worst movies of 2022.

1. 365 Days: This Day

Metacritic Score: 8 

The 2022 erotic thriller movie 365 Days: This Day was directed by Barbara Biaows and Tomasz Mandes. It is a follow-up to 365 Days and is based on Blanka Lipiska’s This Day, the second book in a trilogy. Anna-Maria Sieklucka, Michele Morrone, Rebecca Casiraghi, and Magdalena Lamparska star. One of the worst movies of 2022.
